“色拉英语”里的 D 指的是 Diarist（日记作者）这个角色，意在鼓励学生养成用英语记录生活的好习惯，正好在四年级的课本里也讲到 “I’m going to keep a diary in English. People will read it in the future when I’m famous”。现在不用等到famous 也能让别人读到自己的心情故事，那就是——用英语发朋友圈！

In “Salad English”, D refers to the role of the Diarist, which aims to encourage students to form a good habit of recording life in English. In actual fact, our Grade Four English book has a section called “I’m going to keep a diary in English. People will read it in the future when I’m famous”. Now others can read your story in your own words before you become famous!

我们为什么要学英语？除了用英语交流，更是为了表达自我。为什么表达自我？是为了张扬个性，分享喜怒哀乐并获得关注。对于80后来说朋友圈可能是找回自我的最后一片自留地，但对于10后来说，朋友圈则是学习交流的第一张名片。鼓励四年级的10后用英语在朋友圈码字, 除了让他/她们有区别于书面作业的自由个性表达区，也让他/她们感受一下被老师以外人群点赞的愉悦，更重要的是明白朋友圈需要的是真才实学以及有意义有营养的内容，互相点赞则是一个互相学习互相启发的过程。教材上的语法是理性的，文字是中性的，喜怒哀乐是感性的，通过朋友圈，心的感性让碎片化的语言知识有了整体的输出表达，同时，语法的理性又让飘忽不定的感性获得了“有意注意力”的锻炼机会。

Why do we learn English? In addition to communicating in English, it’s wonderful to express yourself. Why should you express yourself? By giving voice to our feelings, sharing happiness and sorrows, others can get to know us better! For the post-80s Generation, WeChat Moments may be the last private space in which they find themselves, but for the 2010s Generation, WeChat Moments is the first port of call to communicate with each other after learning. We encourage fourth grade students to share their Moments in English. In this way, they not only have another space for free expression beyond written assignments, but they can also feel the joy of being praised by people other than teachers. More importantly, they will understand that WeChat Moments should contain knowledgeable and meaningful content. Hitting the like button is a process of mutual learning and mutual inspiration. The grammar in the textbook is rational; the words are neutral; and happiness and heartaches are emotional. Through Moments, along with the sensibility of the heart, we have an overall expression combining fragmented language. At the same time, the rational structure of grammar offers training opportunities of “voluntary attention”.

现在我们来看看几位来自四年级朋友圈的“文字网红”吧！他/她们的文字不复杂，语法也并不完美，但从字里行间可以感受他/她们快乐的校园生活，小组获胜后的喜悦，对学习进步的追求，与老师亦师亦友的感情，古灵精怪的创意，和谐有趣的亲子关系，成长的小烦恼，对成长的雄心壮志……他/她们的世界淳朴而多彩，看着他/她们用最朴实简单的英语记录心情，我们也仿佛回到了童年。

Now let’s have a look at a few “Internet Word Celebrities” from Grade Four Moments! Their writing is not complicated and their grammar is not perfect, but reading between the lines, we can see their happy school life; their joy in collaboration; the pursuit of learning progress; the feelings of both friend and mentor; ingenious creativity; harmonious and interest in the parent-child relationship; small growing pains and ambition to become a novelist… their world is bright and colorful. Watching them record their mood in simple English words, we seem to be kids again.

看着自己的孩子每天放学回家后乐此不疲地拿着iPad发朋友圈，家长的心情也从最初担心玩物丧志变成了现在的“路转粉”。

Watching children happily share their Moments through an iPad every day after school, the parents’ attitude has changed from worrying to supporting.

其实童年的学习生活就是这样，每天带出学校的不仅仅是作业和试卷，更应该有值得回味和抒发的感情。如果连分享的心情都没有，如果连怀念的兴致都没有，如果连梦想的勇气都没有，如果连反思的意识都没有，如果连表达的热情都没有，那从作业和试卷里学到的技能，又何处安放呢？

Actually, learning life should be so in childhood. Every day, when the students leave school, they should not take just homework and notebooks, but treasure and express their unique feelings. If there is no desire to share, no interest to strive, no courage to dream and reflect, How do you employ the skills you learned from your assignments and exams?
